In a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh’s burgeoning information technology sector, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to lay the foundation stone for Microsoft’s new campus in Noida’s Sector 145 on March 8, 2025. This development underscores the state’s commitment to becoming a hub for technological innovation and investment.

Microsoft’s Strategic Expansion in Noida

The upcoming Microsoft campus will be constructed on a five-acre plot in Sector 145. This facility marks Microsoft’s third major campus in India, following its establishments in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The Hyderabad center accommodates approximately 5,000 employees, while the Bengaluru facility houses around 2,000 professionals. The Noida campus is anticipated to create employment opportunities for 3,000 individuals, further solidifying the region’s status as a burgeoning IT hub.

Complementary IT Developments

In addition to the Microsoft campus, Chief Minister Adityanath is slated to inaugurate other significant IT infrastructure projects during his visit. These include the inauguration of MAQ’s building and Sify’s campus, both situated in Sector 132 and each spanning five acres. These developments reflect a concerted effort to attract leading technology firms to Noida, fostering a robust ecosystem for innovation and employment.

Infrastructure Enhancements and Public Projects

Beyond the IT sector, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stones for two underpasses on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, aiming to improve traffic flow and safety. Additionally, the Ganga Water project, a ₹228 crore initiative with a capacity of 37.5 cusecs, will be inaugurated to supply quality drinking water to sectors 130 and 135. A tertiary treatment plant with a daily capacity of 200 million liters will also be launched, enhancing water treatment capabilities in the region.

Engagement with Local Communities

Addressing the concerns of farmers whose lands have been acquired for urban development, the Noida Authority has conducted surveys in ten villages to resolve issues related to residential areas (abadi). The state government is reviewing these matters to ensure fair compensation and rehabilitation for the affected communities, reflecting a commitment to inclusive development.

Conclusion

The foundation stone laying of Microsoft’s new campus in Noida signifies a pivotal moment in Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward becoming a premier destination for technological investment and innovation. Coupled with other infrastructural advancements and community-focused initiatives, the state is poised to offer enhanced employment opportunities and improved living standards, reinforcing its status as a progressive and business-friendly region.
