Shah Rukh Khan, the iconic Bollywood superstar, is set to temporarily move out of his famed residence, Mannat, as the historic bungalow undergoes significant renovations. The Khan family will relocate to a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area during this period.
Mannat’s Expansion Plans
Mannat, a sea-facing Grade III heritage structure in Bandra, Mumbai, has been Shah Rukh Khan’s home since 2001. In November 2024, Gauri Khan, an acclaimed interior designer and Shah Rukh’s wife, submitted an application to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) seeking permission to add two additional floors to the existing six-storey annexe behind the main bungalow. This expansion aims to enhance the family’s living space by adding approximately 616.02 square meters to the total built-up area.

Temporary Move to Pali Hill
To facilitate the extensive renovation work, which is expected to take around two years, the Khan family will relocate to a luxury apartment in the nearby Pali Hill area. Shah Rukh Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has entered into a leave and license agreement with film producer Vashu Bhagnani’s children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the property known as Puja Casa. The agreement includes leasing four floors of the apartment building, providing ample space to accommodate the family’s needs, including security and staff. The monthly rent for these four floors is reported to be ₹24 lakh.
Impact on Fans and Tourism
Mannat has long been a landmark and tourist attraction, drawing fans from across the country who gather outside its gates hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar. During the renovation period, visitors will notice construction activities as the property undergoes its transformation. While the Khan family resides in Pali Hill, Mannat’s extension is poised to enhance its grandeur, promising an even more impressive abode upon their return.
